How to set up an account

To install apps from the Google Play Store on your Samsung phone, you’ll need a Google account. Here's how you can create and set up a Google account.

Step 1:

From your home screen, open the menu by swiping up or down on the screen.

Step 2:

Tap Play Store.

Step 3:

Tap Sign in on the Google Play screen.

Step 4:

Tap Create account on the Google Sign in page.

If you have a Google account, tap Email or phone, enter your login information and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 5:

Tap For myself in the dropdown.

Step 6:

On the Google Create a Google Account screen, enter your first name in the First name field.

Enter your last name in the Last name field.

Step 7:

Tap Next.

Step 8:

In the Basic information screen, choose your date of birth and select your gender.

Tap Next.

Step 9:

Tap Create your own Gmail address on the Choose your Gmail address screen.

Step 10:

Under Create a Gmail address, enter a username.

Step 11:

Choose Next.

The username you have entered will be reviewed. If the username is already in use, enter a different username and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 12:

Under Password, enter a password (at least 8 characters).

Tap Confirm and re-enter the password.

Step 13:

Tap Next.

Scroll down and tap the Skip button on the bottom left.

Step 14:

Tap Next.

Step 15:

Read the terms and conditions and tap I agree, once you are happy to continue.

Step 16:

Tap Create Account.

Tap Confirm.

You can now download and install apps on your Samsung phone using the Google Play Store.
