Go somewhere foreign, and still use your phone
What’s the point in being somewhere awesome when you can’t call your mates to point out how much better your life is than theirs?

Luckily, your Skinny phone will work in a bunch of countries around the world, even some spots where you can buy grilled insects on sticks.  You kids need to know that right now Skinny does not support data while roaming. We're working on it. 

Before you head off overseas, just check out whether your destination is on our list. It's also probably a good idea to check out the charges.

Topping up overseas 

To top up overseas, use the Skinny Mobile Menu, which works in most destinations. Just dial *888# and select "Top-up" from the menu.  

The shortcuts don't work when you're travelling, you'll need to go step-by-step through the menus. It's free to use the Skinny Mobile Menu and works in most of our roaming destinations.

If the Skinny Mobile Menu doesn't work where you are, you should hop onto My Skinny and Top-up online with your credit card or debit card.

All of this stuff is like way easier if you have a stored credit card or debit card, so why not set that up before you leave?

To make it even simpler, set up an Auto Top-up. and you don't have to worry about all these Top-up shenanigans at all! 

Accessing voicemail
To get your voicemail when you're enjoying yourself overseas, you need to have set up your Voicemail PIN.

To set your voicemail PIN up (it's best to do this before you go) ring 789 from your Skinny phone while you are in NZ.

To access your messages, just call +64 204 864 236 and follow the prompts. Remember - you will need your voicemail PIN. Please note that international calling charges will apply. You will be charged at the same rate as a call to NZ from your destination.

Having issues when roaming?
Lost your phone? Need help? We have a super helpful International Roaming Helpdesk. When roaming overseas, call +64 337 10866 which is free when called from your Skinny phone.

Not able to call from your Skinny phone? You can call +800 4663 2460 free if you are in Australia, UK, China, Thailand, Canada, or Hong Kong. Remember to dial the international access code before the 800 E.g. if dialling from Australia you would dial 0011 800 4663 2460, if dialling from the UK you would dial 00 800 4663 2460.
